Ash is a type of wood similar to oak and originates from Europe. SpecialS buy oak from a factory in Germany. This wood is sawn into planks in the Netherlands and sent to the factory in Indonesia. Here, it is dried and processed into our products. Ash is a type of wood used for solid furniture and as a veneer on a piece of furniture itself. Chic furniture is often made of ash because it has a straight look. Light colored, smooth-grained hardwood that grows throughout the east coast and parts of Canada. With its typical straight grain, ash wood is an attractive option for fine furniture.

- How is ash wood used in furniture from SpecialS?

Ash is used as a solid wood species in furniture, but also as a veneer. Veneers are often used in combination with olive wood. Ash is a wilder wood species. Ash comes in many different shapes and sizes in our furniture. Chairs, tables, sofas, and furniture, are all products that can contain ash wood.

- How do I keep ash wood products clean and in good condition?

Want to keep ash clean and in good condition? Then warm a dishcloth on a heater or in front of a stove. Brush over the table with this cloth, this way you will get the color back on the table nicely and it will be kept clean. You can also go over the furniture with a wet cloth and then polish it off with a warm, dry cloth. The following should anyone be aware of:
- Use a soft, clean cloth, possibly slightly damp to wipe your furniture. Never use an aggressive cleaning agent as this can damage the wood
- Watch out for sunlight as it can discolor wood
- Use a coaster and when your furniture has become damp, absorb it immediately, otherwise the risk of stains arises
- Do not place hot pans on a wooden surface or write directly on the table as this may cause stains or bleed
