Sovereign of the Sea, hoisted sails
Sovereign of the Seas was a 17th-century warship of the British Navy. It was later renamed HMS Sovereign and then HMS Royal Sovereign at the Restoration of Charles II.
The elaborately gilded stern, ordered by Charles I of England, caused enemy ships to know her as the "Golden Devil". She was launched on 13 October 1637 and served from 1638 to 1697, when a fire burned the ship down to the waterline at Chatham.
The Sovereign of the Seas is a highly detailed model that comes into its own in any interior. It can be placed in the living room or office as a unique eye-catcher.
