The Supermarine Spitfire was a British fighter aircraft. The aircraft was put into production in 1938 by Supermarine Division, Vickers Armstrong Ltd. The aircraft was used throughout World War II by the Allies, mainly by the RAF. A total of 20,340 were built.

The Spitfire stands out for its streamline and elliptical wings. The aircraft is best known for the decisive role it played during the Battle of Britain.
